The “Stretch IRA’ Is No Longer “Stretching”

Effective January 1, 2020, as part of The Secure Act of 2019, the Stretch IRA provision is dead … sort of. The following individuals would still benefit from the “stretch”: Heirs of IRAs whose original owners died before 2020, surviving spouses, chronically ill or disabled heirs and heirs within ten years of age of the original owner of the IRA.
