If you have been a victim of a data breach, the first step is to keep in touch with the company to learn what it is doing to protect you. It is also important to notify the IRS if you were involved in a data breach, if your social security number was compromised, if your credit card was used by someone else or if someone tried applying for a credit card in your name.
